Instrument of Order

Putting every kitchen utensil into a huge pile of cluttered mess is a bad idea; the next time some food needs cooking, the next time you need to cook, it will take long and stressful minutes to find the knives, the chopping board, and the correct pot before you can start.

For eras, people have learned to have dividers, shelves, containers, to organize. To organize net positive; the time needed is much less than the time wasted dumpster diving the unorganized blob; and the bigger the blob, the longer it takes to search.

There is a reason why a group of people for the same purpose is called an "organization". Organization is the key to scaling.

Needless to be said, over-organizing can be an issue.

Sort-on-write is a technique in computing where data is sorted when they are being written/stored, akin to a bookstore where books are separated by genres so that customers know where to look.

Categories can be tricky. What if a book can be both sci-fi and fantasy? Which shelf should it go to? Book browsing might not be that serious, but when serious categorization is needed, consider investing in designing it to be unambiguous and mutually exclusive; it minimizes dilemma and the need for a sub-organization.

Not everything needs to be scaled. But when scaling is needed, be the one that organizes, especially when no one wants to and knows how to. Be the one that designs the shelves for the other to sort their utensils on. Be the one that enables others to think less while doing more.
